Vietnam Tourism Roadshow 2024 held in Perth to boost tourism ties

The Vietnam Tourism Roadshow in Perth promotes Vietnam’s tourism, highlighting cultural heritage and business partnerships with Australia.

On 10th September 2024 (local time), the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism (VNAT) organised the Vietnam Tourism Roadshow in Perth, the largest city in Western Australia. This program is part of a series of activities to promote Vietnamese tourism in the Australian and New Zealand markets.

Giving his welcoming speech, VNAT’s Vice Chairman Ha Van Sieu affirmed, that the event demonstrates the efforts and determination of Vietnamese and Australian management agencies and businesses in proactively promoting the development of multifaceted relations between the two countries.

Regarding the exchange of visitors, VNAT’s Vice Chairman Ha Van Sieu said, Australia is one of the traditional and leading markets for Vietnam tourism. In 2023, Vietnam tourism welcomed more than 390,000 Australian tourist arrivals, reaching a recovery rate of 103% compared to the pre-pandemic period, among the 10 largest tourist source markets of Vietnam. In the first 7 months of 2024, Vietnam welcomed more than 281 thousand Australian visitor arrivals, an increase of 127% over the same period in 2023.

In recent times, tourism between the two countries has had many cooperative activities, creating favorable conditions for information exchange. Vietnam Airlines has also opened direct flights, connecting major cities and tourist centers of the two countries. Remarkably, from 15th August 2023, Vietnam grants e-visa for citizens of all countries and territories around the world for a duration of up to 90 days.

VNAT’s Vice Chairman Ha Van Sieu believes that through the Vietnam Tourism Roadshow in Perth with unique cultural and artistic performances, visitors will get to know more about the majestic natural scenery, unique cultural heritage, and enjoy authentic cuisine.

Vietnam – with its majestic natural beauty and rich cultural heritage, is becoming an attractive tourist destination. Vietnam is proud of its UNESCO-recognized world heritage sites. Outstanding landscapes such as Ha Long Bay, Phu Quoc Island and Son Doong Cave captivate visitors with the wonder and diversity of nature. Popular destinations such as Ha Noi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang and Nha Trang attract tourists thanks to their rich culture and landscape. At the same time, new destinations such as Lang Son with its ethnic villages and diverse cultural heritage, Binh Dinh with its historical relics and pristine beaches, Can Tho with its floating markets and South-western landscapes, Soc Trang with its temples and unique Khmer culture, are also becoming widely well-known.

At the Roadshow, Australian delegates, distinguished guests, businesses and partners listened to an introduction to Vietnam tourism, and enjoyed unique traditional cultural and artistic performances performed by artists from the Vietnam National Music, Dance and Theatre Troupe.

The tourism management departments of provinces/cities and Vietnamese enterprises also bring many unique and classy tourism products and services to promote and introduce to international partners.

On the same day, a programme connecting Vietnamese and Australian businesses took place. Here, businesses from both sides met, exchanged, discussed, shared, updated tourism information, and sought investment opportunities, established business cooperation relationships, and attracted tourist exchanges.
