Marriott International in Thailand has teamed up with SOS Foundation since 2018 to promote the reduction of food waste as well as support communities.

BANGKOK, THAILAND – Marriott International strengthens its collaboration with Scholars of Sustenance Foundation (SOS) Thailand, a food rescue foundation in Bangkok. As part of this collaboration, Marriott International’s senior leadership prepared more than 300 boxes of Thai meals to be distributed across three local communities including Phra Chen, Ruamrudee, and Polo.

Today’s activity is part of sustainability and social impact platform, Serve360: Doing Good in Every Direction, which guides the company’s commitment to help take on the world’s most pressing social, environmental, and economic issues. It also builds on Marriott’s long-standing core value to Serve Our World and create positive and sustainable impact wherever it does business.

More than 40 participants from Marriott International including David Marriott, Chairman of the Board; Anthony Capuano, Chief Executive Officer; Craig S. Smith, Group President, International Division; Rajeev Menon, President, Asia Pacific (Excluding Greater China); Regan Taikitsadaporn, Chief Human Resources Officer, Asia Pacific; regional area leadership and Business Council leaders gathered to prepare food at the Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen's Park. The event kicked off with a short welcome by the Managing Director of the SOS Foundation Thailand, James Leyson to introduce all the attendees to SOS Thailand’s Rescue Kitchen program.

“We are proud to strengthen our collaboration with SOS Foundation through today’s activity, giving back to local communities,” said Regan Taikitsadaporn, Chief Human Resources Officer, Asia Pacific, Marriott International. “Through our collaboration with SOS Foundation, we are not only providing local communities with nutritious food, but also at the same time, putting our core value of serving our world into action.”

Marriott International in Thailand has teamed up with SOS Foundation since 2018 to promote the reduction of food waste as well as support communities. To date, more than 20 hotels and resorts across the Marriott International portfolio in Thailand work with SOS Foundation. Pilots are also underway for Marriott International hotels in Bali and Manila to work with the organization. SOS Foundation is a food rescue foundation that has been serving Bangkok communities since 2016. The foundation has partnered with many organizations and companies, including hotels, shopping malls, as well as suppliers to redefine the way food is distributed to tackle the food deficit issue and put good nutrition into the hands of those who need it.
