voco Orchard Singapore : Opening the doors to somewhere different

The lifestyle-led property on Orchard Road has rebranded and welcomes guests with a new staycation package.

SINGAPORE – IHG Hotels & Resorts, one of the world’s leading hotel companies has rebranded voco Orchard Singapore, and is introducing guests to new and refreshed dining and stay experiences in the coming months. Charming, unstuffy, and playful, the landmark property has launched ‘voco Experience’, a staycation package to invite guests for a taste of the voco life from 7 January to 28 February 2022.

The 51-year-old iconic property will continue to offer 423 guestrooms, with four well-loved restaurants and bars – Opus Bar & Grill, D9 Cakery, il Cielo and Iggy’s, a rooftop swimming pool, a 24-hour gym and over 1,850sqm of meeting and social event spaces.

In line with voco Hotels’ celebration of the individual heritage and spirit of each hotel, voco Orchard Singapore celebrates the rich history of the land on which it stands; scents, sights and flavours of the past thread their way through the guest journey, emerging in rich stories intertwined with the present, calling together and inviting guests to a playful, thoughtful and dependably charming space that offers meaningful, authentic connection.

A far cry from the bustling shopping district of today, Orchard Road was previously home to pepper farms, nutmeg plantations, and the namesake fruit orchards. Tributes to this rich history will be layered throughout the guest experience – from the intoxicating citrus grapefruit and pink peppercorn fragrance of the hotel lobby as guests ‘come on in’, to homemade spiced cookies, which are offered to all guests

The spirit of voco Orchard Singapore is defined by its people. Familiar faces of long-serving staff – some of whom have been working at the hotel for over 40 years. After months of preparation, my team and I are looking forward to welcoming guests to voco Orchard Singapore, where they can expect a comforting, yet exciting stay. Following the rebranding, we will be making subtle changes to the guest experience, enhancing both dining and stay experiences,” says Mark Winterton, General Manager, voco Orchard Singapore.

The ‘voco Experience’ package combines familiar touches and warm hospitality with playful twists. Guests are welcome to ‘come on in’ and are greeted with a unique welcome treat – homemade spiced cookie and a swift check-in. ‘Me time’ beckons in guestrooms with signature voco touches, such as high-quality bedding made from 100% recycled materials and eco-friendly large size bathroom amenities from Apotheke, plant-based organic skincare company introduced in Singapore for the first time.

Guests can relax, be themselves and enjoy a slice of ‘voco life’ with D9 Cakery’s famed classic American cheesecake, and end their day with a voco-inspired cocktail at Opus Bar & Grill. Choices include the refreshing Rosella – Aperol, Roselle infusion, elderflower liquer, Prosecco, cranberry juice and lime juice; the fruity Spicy Martini – gin infused with chili, passionfruit juice and Tiger beer or the bold and smokey Nutmeg Old Fashioned – Wild Turkey Bourbon, maple and Angostura bitters.

Guests of voco Orchard Singapore will have access to one of the world’s largest hotel loyalty programmes, IHG Rewards, where they can earn and redeem points at nearly 6,000 hotels and major airlines globally. Dine, save and earn in 2022 at voco Orchard Singapore as it joins the IHG Rewards Dining Privileges programme where members can save up to 20% off their bill and earn 250 IHG Rewards points with every S$35 spent when they present their membership card or virtual card on the IHG App.
