Travel experts at MyBaggage have analyzed the best places to ski down under as demand for ‘Skiing in Australia’ has shot up by a huge 3,050% in the past 7 days since Australia announced plans to reopen their borders this month. 

As the boarders reopened on the 21st of February and with some inspiration from the Winter Olympics, Americans are on the hunt for their next winter vacation and Australia is top of their list as Google searches for ‘ski resorts in Australia’ have increased by 1,050% in the past week.

Mount Buller is the best ski resort for Americans looking to ski or snowboard this summer with over 300 hectares of skiable terrain. The resort boasts a number of different runs/slopes for any level whether that’s a beginner or advanced. It has a rating of 3.1 out of 5 and is the largest lift network in Victoria.

Buller offers a competitive ski pass price with an average ski pass ticket costing $103.76 for adults and $58.15 for kids. 

Thredbo has the highest Ski resort rating

Even though Thredbo comes in second place for best places to ski in Australia, it has the highest rating for its resort with a score of 3.5 out of 5. 

The resort has over 50km of mapped runs and slopes for all abilities to enjoy. It’s home to the longest ski run, the Thredbo Supertrail and the average ski pass for an adult is $128.85. 

Perisher 

Perisher scored highly for resort rating and the length of slopes boasting 65km of runs; however, its average ticket price was the highest out of all the resorts costing $140.25.
