Ovolo Hotels’ “Quarantine Concierge” eases return to Hong Kong

To fuel guests during their stay with Ovolo, the Quarantine Concierge package includes complimentary breakfast and a cup of barista-made coffee delivered to the guestroom door each morning, plus snacks from the complimentary minibar and Ovolo’s signature Loot Bag, which is replenished daily.

NEW YORK – Ovolo Hotels, one of the world’s leading designer hotel collections, has introduced a unique Quarantine Concierge package in Hong Kong, designed to support the mental and physical wellbeing of arriving visitors and residents during their government-mandated 14-day quarantine.

On arrival at Hong Kong Airport, all travelers are tested for COVID-19; once a negative test result is returned, travelers and Hong Kong residents can enter Hong Kong and make their way to the Ovolo Hotels in the city. Ovolo will be there to welcome all guests, including Hong Kong residents returning from the US and UK, with open (yet socially distanced) arms at its Ovolo Central, Ovolo Southside and The Sheung Wan by Ovolo locations. Once in their rooms, guests are required to remain there for 14 days, per governmental regulations – which is where Ovolo’s Quarantine Concierge comes in. While relaxing in their rooms (outfitted with unlimited premium Wi-Fi, Apple TV and Alexa, along with coloring books, brainteasers, playing cards and even a personal potted plant), Ovolo guests can stock up on all of their other “daily essentials” by requesting the Quarantine Concierge make runs to the grocery store, pharmacy or 7/11 convenience store on their behalf.

Guests also receive HKD$1,000 (approx. US$130) in F&B credits for in-room dining – anything from Ovolo’s famous Aloo Gobi from Veda at Ovolo Central, to Komune’s newly launched indulgent vegetarian menu at Ovolo Southside, or Ovolo’s signature cocktail, the Barrel Aged Negroni. Ovolo will also bring its signature complimentary daily Happy Hour to each room during quarantine, and there will be weekly social sessions via Zoom to connect and mingle with fellow quarantining guests. And on the last night of the 14-night stay, Ovolo will deliver a celebratory bottle of Cava to each guest’s room.

To help quarantined guests stay energized and physically fit throughout their stay, all rooms at Ovolo Central and Ovolo Southside have been equipped with in-room fitness gear, including a yoga mat, gliders and resistance bands. And Ovolo has partnered with the Hong Kong-based gym, Hybrid, to bring guests “Strong at Ovolo,” a series of hotel room-friendly workouts. Ovolo is also hosting a fun daily step challenge, wherein anyone who takes more than 10,000 steps in their room will win a free cold-pressed juice. And guests who want to up their in-room fitness game can also add on to their package by requesting a walking treadmill, set of dumbbells and foam rollers, or scheduling a one-on-one virtual personal training session with Hybrid. (Following their quarantine stay with Ovolo, guests can also visit the Hybrid gym for a post-quarantine health assessment and receive a one-time free trial.)  And for a little bit of self-care, guests can add on by requesting a wellness kit from LifeHub or a manicure kit delivered directly to their door.

“At Ovolo, there is no stigma for our quarantine guests. If I had to quarantine, this is how I would want to do it,” says Girish Jhunjhnuwala, CEO of Ovolo Hotels. “As always, we are devoted to ensuring that Ovolo Hotels are as clean as possible with our new OC/DC (‘Obsessive Commitment to Deep Cleaning’) cleaning and hygiene standards.”

To support Ovolo team members who have been furloughed due to COVID-19, Ovolo Group has created the Shiny Happy People Promise, with 5% of all direct bookings going directly to Ovolo’s hospitality staff in need during this difficult time.
