MetroRide has a vision of having women as drivers for most of their fleet. MetroRide’s CEO and Co-founder Girish Nagpal says, “What drives the team is the impact that we will create to billions of lives and the society. When a woman starts earning and is independent, not just that one life, not just that one household, but the whole society and the nation prospers. Hence, most of the fleet is run by women who come from very humble backgrounds. We are glad to be a part of this positive change.”

With a vision of the government of Karnataka to be the EV capital of India and the vision of MetroRide to promote e-Mobility to reduce carbon footprint not just by promoting metro rails’ ridership but also from the first & the last miles, it will have a great impact. This initiative would also change the lives of many women and enctheage them to become independent. To create a positive impact on the society, it is important to switch to various sustainable products and services and bring in a culture of gender inclusion & parity at the workplaces irrespective of the sector or function. Only then one can think of a sustainable & futuristic India, that all can be proud of.
