Tanjung Lesung is known to be the best beach near Jakarta that offer good surf, calm swimming spots, healthy reefs, and white inviting sand.

Amongst the ten ‘New Bali’ destinations appointed by the Ministry of Tourism of Indonesia, Tanjung Lesung is the closest to Jakarta, which is only 180 km away to the west from the capital city.

JAKARTA, Indonesia — PT Jababeka Tbk invites foreign developers or tourism business players to help build ‘New Bali’ in Tanjung Lesung located near Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia. “Through this joint work and support from the Indonesian government, equipped with its natural and cultural beauty, Tanjung Lesung will soon become an area like Nusa Dua in Bali,” said Poernomo Siswoprasetijo, CEO of PT Banten West Java (BWJ) — a subsidiary of Jababeka, which is responsible to develop the area.

Amongst the ten ‘New Bali’ destinations appointed by the Ministry of Tourism of Indonesia, Tanjung Lesung is the closest to Jakarta, which is only 180 km away to the west from the capital city. The government is soon completing the Serang — Panimbang toll road and supporting infrastructures to accelerate travelling time to be less than 2 hours.

Tanjung Lesung has an area of 1,500 hectares with the status of Special Economic Zone (SEZ) inaugurated by President Joko Widodo in 2015; with the SEZ means that foreign investors can own property with various facilities and favourable regulations, such as reduction of income tax, free import tax, suspension of import duty, free VAT and free luxury goods tax. The area also has privilege to give permanent residence permit to foreigners who invest or buy property for certain value and to elderly foreigners.

Tanjung Lesung is surrounded by an extensive variety of natural and cultural beauty, such as the white sand coastline, historical Mount Krakatau, rare animal species in Ujung Kulon National Park, Panaitan Island and the traditional Baduy village that always have been tourist magnets for decades.

The developer also prepared the Salakanagara Airport which will be compatible with the ATR-42 planes, and equipped with a flight school that will breed many prospective local and foreign pilots.
