Genting Hong Kong celebrates 25 years of excellence

Ten new prestigious international accolades fror Crystal, Dream Cruises ans Star Cruises.

HONG KONG – Genting Hong Kong is celebrating 25 years of excellence with 10 prestigious new awards and accolades from around the world. Within the past two months, its Genting Cruise Lines brands – Crystal, Dream Cruises and Star Cruises – have added to Genting Hong Kong’s vast array of honours amassed from a quarter of a century as the pioneer of the Asian cruise industry.

Dream Cruises was awarded ‘Best Cruise Operator’ at this year’s Travel Trade Gazette’s (TTG) Travel Awards and received further recognition across the region, winning the award for ‘Best Premium Experience Cruise Line’ at the China Travel & Meetings Industry Awards 2018 organized by Travel Weekly China in Beijing on 17 September. At the Travel Weekly Asia Readers’ Choice Awards in Singapore on 15 October, Dream Cruises also garnered “Best Cruise Line – Cuisine” and the “Best Cruise Line – Entertainment” awards while World Dream was named “Best New Ship”.

Across the globe, international ultra-luxury brand Crystal was recognized by various international publications including being voted by the readers of Conde Nast Traveler magazine as the Best Medium Ship Line in the Readers’ Choice Awards for the 25th year. Crystal Cruises was also named as runner-up for Best Small Ship Line for Crystal Esprit, the first vessel for Crystal Yacht Expedition Cruises. As well, acclaimed Crystal River Cruises was runner up for “Best River Ship Line” in the Conde Nast Traveler’s Readers’ Choice Awards and named “Best Cruise Line – River Cruise” by Travel Weekly Asia’s Readers’ Choice Awards.

Additionally, Star Cruises, the first cruise line to be inducted into the TTG “Travel Hall of Fame” for winning ‘Best Cruise Operator in the Asia-Pacific’ ten years in a row previously, was recognized again for the acheivement at the 29th Annual TTG Travel Awards 2018 held in Bangkok, Thailand on 20 September.

Crystal continues to expand its portfolio of experiences that appeal to a variety of luxury travelers, enabling travel partners to grow their luxury business and reach new audiences. With dramatic redesigns completed for Crystal Symphony and on-going for Crystal Serenity, the company continues to invest in its core Ocean voyages, which span the globe and offer travelers diversely enriching choices. In Asia,  the region’s pioneering cruise brand, Star Cruises will continue to provide more options for cruise travelers from China, especially from the Northern region in Tianjin and Qingdao, offering a variety of different cruise experiences to the popular destinations of Kyushu, Japan on SuperStar Virgo. In Southeast Asia, upon the completion of SuperStar Virgo’s 3 month deployment in Northern China, Star Cruises will redeploy its flagship to Manila for the year-end holiday season (4 Dec 2018 – 8 Jan 2019), celebrating her second homeport deployment within this year in the capital city of the Philippines. From her homeport in Hong Kong, Star Pisces offers a convenient, wallet-friendly cruise option for local and foreign guests and provides the best vantage point to view Victoria Harbour while SuperStar Aquarius remains the only cruise ship to boast a year round homeport deployment in Keelung. Also, Star Cruises will commence the multiple homeport deployment of SuperStar Gemini in Port Klang, Penang and Langkawi in Malaysia, along with Phuket in Thailand, focusing on destinations around the calm and tranquil waters of the Straits of Malacca from 5 November 2018 until 28 April 2019, reinforcing the brand’s footprint in the region.
