Delta supports Korean Air in all areas of flight operations

Delta Airlines<.>, pending final review by the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said in an announcement in early December that Korean Air has made significant improvements in all areas of flight Operations and that this reflects that Korean Air has met all applicable International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) safety standards. According to the same announcement, the favorable for Korean Air findings are attributed to improved flight training and simulator programs, enhanced language training, new safety programs, fleet rationalization and standardization actions, a new state-of-the-art automated flight planning and dispatch capability, improved intra-theater communications capabilities, and adaptation of an enhanced risk management program.

Moreover, other measures to enhance Korean Air`s current level of safety, service, and quality continue to be implemented to further strengthen their operations. Officials noted that a date has not yet been set for the resumption of Delta codeshare operations on Korean Air operated flights, however, with approval from the FAA, Delta expects to move forward with this extension of our cooperation in the Spring of 2002.
