X2 Vibe Halong Bay will be the fourth property of Cross Hotels & Resorts in Vietnam, following the successful debut of X2 Vibe in Viet Tri, Phu Tho Province in August last year, and the signing of the X2 Hoi An Resort & Residence (open 2020) and Away Hoi An (open 2021).

Bangkok, Thailand – Cross Hotels and Resorts has expanded its presence in Vietnam with the signing of a hotel management agreement for the X2 Vibe Halong Bay.

The agreement was signed with Halong Bay Hotel Joint Stock Company, a subsidiary of Vietnamtourism – Hanoi JSC.

Set to welcome its first guests in late 2023, the property will comprise 470 guestrooms making it one of the largest internationally branded hotels in the area.

It enjoys a prime location in the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Halong Bay, less than 60 km from Van Don International Airport and a few hours from Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi, which has direct links to 25 major destinations across Asia with more to come in the future.

Catering to both leisure and MICE travelers, facilities include an outdoor swimming pool, living room concept lobby, meeting and function rooms, all-day dining and a fully equipped gym.

Soaring 39 storeys, X2 Vibe Halong Bay draws inspiration from the limestone pillars that rise from the emerald waters of the surrounding gulf. Highlighted with cascading greenery, the state-of-the-art tower is juxtaposed with the natural splendor of its breathtaking environment.

One of the world’s must-visit destinations, Halong Bay is a beautiful natural wonder in northern Vietnam near the Chinese border. The Bay is dotted with 1,600 limestone islands and islets and covers an area of over 1,500 sqm.  The backdrop to numerous movies, Halong Bay is acclaimed for its rich biodiversity and stunning scenery.

CEO of Cross Hotels and Resorts, Peter Lucas, said the new management agreement was in keeping with company’s mission to operate distinct and aspirational brands for scalable and sustainable growth.

“We are passionate about delivering unique commercial solutions for hotel owners and enriching experiences for our guests,’’ Mr. Lucas said.

“We are honoured that Halong Bay Hotel Joint Stock Company has selected us to manage what is destined to become an iconic showcase of X2 Vibe brand when it opens in 2023,’’ he said.

Nguyen Ba Tien, Chairman of Halong Bay Hotel Joint Stock Company, said Halong Bay was one of the fastest-growing areas in northern Vietnam for tourist arrivals.

“According to the Tourism Department of Quang Ninh province, the destination welcomed 12 million visitors last year – up 24% from 2017,’’ he said.

“We wanted to find a partner who shared our vision for excellence – one that could deliver a unique guest experience in this unique destination.

“We are delighted to partner with Cross Hotels & Resorts and look forward to a long and successful relationship together,’’ he said.

X2 Vibe Halong Bay will be the fourth property of Cross Hotels & Resorts in Vietnam, following the successful debut of X2 Vibe in Viet Tri, Phu Tho Province in August last year, and the signing of the luxury X2 Hoi An Resort & Residence (open 2020) and Away Hoi An (open 2021).
