Attendee registration for Cruise Shipping Asia-Pacific 2013 opens

The event begins Tuesday, Oct. 8 with the Asia Cruise Tourism Summit, a gathering of high-level cruise line executives and ministerial-level tourism board representatives.

NEW YORK – Delegate and visitor registration for the 2013 Cruise Shipping Asia-Pacific conference and exhibition is now open. The world’s only annual cruise industry event focused on the entire Asia-Pacific region is scheduled for October 8-10, 2013 at the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore. Online registration is available at cruiseshippingasia.com.

This year’s conference program will explore the revenue outlook throughout the region, including the incredible growth in passenger source markets for cruises and worldwide destinations, and the staggering opportunity in the ship refurbishment and repair sector.

“The opportunity for exhibitors and attendees is unprecedented,” said Daniel Read, Portfolio Director for UBM Live, the show organizer. “Attendees can expect the show to offer trailblazers early entry into the burgeoning Asia-Pacific cruise market, one expected to surpass seven million passengers by 2020.”

The Cruise Shipping Asia-Pacific conference kicks off on October 9 with the State of the Cruise Industry in Asia, followed by two days of concurrent sessions that will assess the pace and direction of growth in the world’s newest and fastest growing cruise sector. The conference will be led by a panel of regional and international industry experts covering essential topics and providing valuable insights into the burgeoning Asia cruise market.

Additionally, travel agents are invited to attend free comprehensive cruise training presented by CLIA Australia.  Those agents may also walk the show floor to meet various suppliers and destinations, which combined with the training, will offer them a 360 view of the industry and help them grow their respective businesses.

New to the 2013 Event:

New to the event in 2013 will be the presentation of the first Rama Rebbapragada Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Cruise Industry in Asia. The award will recognize a person who has played a significant role in developing the cruise industry in the region.

The award will be presented by Celebrity Cruises President and CEO Michael Bayley, who was for many years Royal Caribbean International’s Asia representative and who worked closely with Rebbapragada.

The award was established in memory of Rama Rebbapragada, who was instrumental in helping bring recognition of the potential of the Asia-Pacific cruise market to Western cruise companies.
