Singapore and Ukraine sign new Air Services Agreement

Singapore Ukraine

Singapore and Ukraine sign an Air Services Agreement to boost air connectivity, allowing unlimited passenger and cargo flights between the two countries.

Singapore and Ukraine signed an Air Services Agreement (ASA) on 2 June 2024 to support air connectivity between both countries. The agreement was signed by Singapore’s Minister for Transport and Second Minister for Finance Mr Chee Hong Tat, and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Singapore Mrs Kateryna Zelenko, on the occasion of the President of Ukraine Mr Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s visit to Singapore.

The ASA allows airlines of both sides to operate unlimited frequencies of passenger services utilizing third and fourth freedom traffic rights between Singapore and any point in Ukraine, with no restrictions on capacity, routing, and aircraft type. The agreement also provides a more conducive regulatory and business framework for airlines to operate air services between the two countries.

The agreement marks an important milestone in bilateral aviation relations and replaces a previous agreement between the two countries from 2011.

The signing of the Air Services Agreement with Ukraine demonstrates Singapore’s commitment to enhance aviation partnerships with like-minded countries globally,” said Minister for Transport and Second Minister for Finance Mr Chee Hong Tat. “This Air Services Agreement will support air connectivity between Singapore and Ukraine and create the conditions for stronger economic, cultural and people-to-people ties between our two countries.”
