8. Explore Mekong – MICE activities

GMS countries are increasingly turning into attractive MICE destinations as infrastructures are rapidly developing with new highways, airports as well as hotel facilities and new convention centres. The rapid development of hotels is bringing new range of private venues of the highest quality and equipped with the latest technologies.

For very large exhibitions and conferences, Bangkok is able to cater for any size with three exhibition and convention centres of international standards (Queen Sirikhit International Convention and Exhibition Centre; BITEC and IMPACT Muang Thong Thani). Ho Chi Minh City and Kunming are also able to cater large groups of delegates thanks to the presence of the Kunming International Convention & Exhibition which plays hosts to large exhibitions every year.

Many other GMS cities can welcome large groups of travellers up to 2,000 delegates. This is the case of Chiang Mai, Dali, Guilin, Hanoi, Khon Kaen, Nay Pyi Daw, Phnom Penh and Vientiane. Smaller meeting and conventions can be hosted in most other cities in private venues mostly located in hotels.
