Centara well positioned for next phase of growth

From its first hotel in Ladprao, Centara has grown and prospered, staking its claim as Thailand’s largest hotel operator. Today, 71 Centara properties are operational or under development in Thailand and around the world.

Thirty-six years ago, Thailand’s first shopping centre mega-mall development, Central Plaza, rose from a suburban construction site on Bangkok’s Ladprao Road. The project included a brand new 5-star hotel that launched the Central Group’s hotel business with one of the Group’s largest investment commitments.

From its first hotel in Ladprao, Centara has grown and prospered, staking its claim as Thailand’s largest hotel operator. Today, 71 Centara properties are operational or under development in Thailand and around the world.

Since the launch of its hotel business in 1983, Centara has built a worldwide customer following, drawn to its blend of gracious Thai-style hospitality, world-class accommodation, exceptional amenities, and an expanded collection of innovative brands to serve the diverse needs of travellers.

CENTARA’S BRAND FAMILY

Centara’s portfolio of properties comprises six distinctive brands — Centara Grand Hotels & Resorts, Centara Hotels & Resorts, Centara Boutique Collection, Centra by Centara, Centara Residences & Suites and COSI Hotels — ranging from 5-star city hotels and luxurious island retreats to family resorts and affordable lifestyle concepts supported by innovative technology. It also operates state-of-the-art convention centres and has its own award-winning spa brand, SPA Cenvaree.

Throughout the collection, Centara delivers and celebrates the hospitality and values Thailand is famous for including gracious service, exceptional food, pampering spas and the importance of families. Centara’s distinctive culture and diversity of formats allow it to serve and satisfy travellers of nearly every age and lifestyle.

STRATEGIC GROWTH AHEAD

Centara collection of hotels and resorts continues to grow. June marked the opening of Centara Sonrisa Residences & Suites Sriracha on Thailand’s Eastern Seaboard, and both COSI Pattaya Naklua Beach and Centara Ao Nang Beach Resort & Spa Krabi open in September.

Centara Deira

In 2020, Centara Grand Hotel Doha will open, along with Centara Deira Islands Beach Resort Dubai — a fun-filled family beach resort with one of the UAE’s largest water parks.  And the iconic Centara Grand Beach Resort Samui, which just closed for a one-year top-to-bottom renovation, will re-open at a new level of luxury in mid-2020.

The additional properties opening in Thailand and the company’s expanding footprint into new international markets including Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar and Turkey, will put Centara in position to carry out its five-year strategic plan, which calls for doubling the size of its hotel and resort portfolio by 2022.
