The partnership enables Visa cardholders to book a COVID-19 test at their preferred in-city clinic from a list of testing facilities through Collinson’s website.

HONG KONG - Collinson, a global leader in traveller experiences and medical assistance, announced that it has partnered with leading global payments technology company, Visa, to offer a range of pre-departure COVID-19 travel tests, including RT-PCR and Rapid Antigen Tests, to all Visa cardholders.

The partnership launched on 25 March and results in COVID-19 testing services being available to Visa cardholders in Singapore, other APAC markets and the United Kingdom.

Streamlining for the New Era of Travel

The partnership will allow for a seamless and secure COVID-19 testing process for Visa cardholders, who will be able to book a test at their preferred in-city clinic from a list of testing facilities through Collinson’s website. Upon completion of their test, customers will receive a test certificate with their PCR test results within 36 hours, and within an hour, from the clinic directly, for Rapid Antigen tests; which if negative, can then be used for travel.

The announcement follows on from recent Collinson research, conducted in partnership with CAPA – Centre for Aviation (CAPA), which revealed that over half of respondents (54%) expect robust COVID-19 testing protocols will remain key to re-opening borders until the end of 2022 in Asia Pacific, with a further 26% expecting this until the end of 2023. The research featured the opinions of a specially selected group of over 400 C-Suite and senior managerial level travel experts globally.

Todd Handcock, President, Asia Pacific at Collinson, said: “Through our expanded partnership with Visa, which today includes airport lounge access and experiences for many of their cardholders globally, we’re extremely pleased to also help ensure COVID-19 travel testing is easily accessible to their vast network of cardholders. While Asia Pacific continues to be the ‘first in, last out’ of the COVID-19 pandemic, the importance of travel testing remains. We are delighted to be working with Visa to help the safe restart of global travel, and with more destinations opening up to travellers once again, we look forward to helping to restore their travel confidence as they take to the skies.”

Conor Lynch, head of Consumer Solutions, Asia Pacific, Visa, added: “Our partnership with Collinson speaks to Visa being more than just a way of making seamless and secure payment. With a Visa card, travellers can access a range of benefits, which now includes discounts on pre-departure travel tests; especially important today as the world adapts to new norms of travel. Together with Collinson, Visa is keen to make it convenient and hassle-free for travellers to take to the skies again.”

Collinson, through its travel medical services, has become the UK’s leading airport testing provider, having spent the past two years working with more than 30 airlines, airports, health passport providers and other members of the travel ecosystem, as well as governments around the world to aid the safe restart of travel.
