Miss World 2018 first runner-up celebrated New Year in Phuket with good cause

During 31 December 2018 – 4 January 2019, Asia’s premier destination resort Laguna Phuket has welcomed Miss World 2018 1st Runner-up, Miss Thailand 2018 Nicolene Pichapa Boonchoo and Miss Thailand World 2018 1st Runner-up Praewwanit Ruangthong to its world-renowned integrated beach resort upon their trip to celebrate the New Year in Phuket, Thailand.

Both recently-crowned beauties stayed at Laguna Phuket’s newest resort, Cassia Phuket and enjoyed fun activities around Phuket province and its scenic islands to learn and help promote Phuket’s culture and tourism.

During their time in Phuket, both Nicolene and Praew also visited facilities within Laguna Phuket and delightedly experienced the beauty and conveniences the resort has to offer amidst its tropical parkland scenery along the pristine Bangtao Beach.

They were impressed that there is a kindergarten hidden in the 1,000-acre resort complex, providing free education for children of the resort’s associates and community members for more than 25 years. Nicolene and Praew spent hours reading stories to Laguna Phuket Kindergarten students, all the while inspired them with beauty, wit and kindness.

Nicolene is the founder of the "Love For All" project whose goals include setting up a vocational school for autistic children. The project was inspired by Nicolene's own younger brother who was diagnosed with autism.

“Khun Nicolene really touched us with her enthusiasm for charitable causes and helping the less fortunate, something Laguna Phuket has been leading for 30 years with all our charity and foundation works,” said Laguna Phuket Managing Director, Ravi Chandran

Laguna Phuket will host its 27th annual Children’s Day Celebration on Saturday 12 January, 8am-12pm at Laguna Grove in the heart of the resort. Everyone is welcome. Entry is free.
