HK Express launches new Hong Kong-Penang direct flight in November

HK Express announces a new direct route from Hong Kong to Penang, Malaysia, starting November 2024, enhancing travel options in Asia.

HONG KONG – HK Express Airways (HK Express) announced the inauguration of a new route between Hong Kong and Malaysia’s Penang International Airport (PEN), situated on the northwest coast of Peninsular Malaysia. The route shall commence operations on 21 November 2024. Serving as an additional option for those interested in diverse cultures and heritage, Penang is easily reachable in a 3-hour direct flight from Hong Kong, where travelers can bask in the heavenly holiday resort blended with Malay and old Hong Kong style.

Penang State Executive Councillor for Tourism and Creative Economy, Wong Hon Wai, warmly welcomes the announcement by HK Express about launching a new direct flight route from Hong Kong to Penang. Wong stated: “We are thrilled to welcome the upcoming direct flights from Hong Kong to Penang offered by HK Express. Penang residents are proficient in multiple languages, including Malay, English, Mandarin, Cantonese and various Chinese dialects such as Hokkien, Teochew and Hakka. This linguistic diversity fosters a deep connection between Hong Kong, Greater Bay Area and Penang. We eagerly invite tourists, business travellers and students to experience the unique charm of Penang, a city that seamlessly blends East and West, tradition and modernity.”
