HK Express introduces a new route to Sendai, Japan, starting January 2025, offering four weekly direct flights to the vibrant city.
HONG KONG – HK Express Airways (HK Express) announced the launch of a new route linking Hong Kong with Sendai, to begin on 17 January 2025, with four direct flights each week to Sendai Airport (SDJ). Sendai marks HK Express’s second new destination in Japan this year, following Hiroshima. In just four hours, travellers can embark with ease on an exciting journey to explore Japan’s Tohoku region.
Nestled in Japan’s Tohoku (northeast) region, Sendai beautifully blends natural splendour with a rich historical culture. Hailed as the “City of Trees”, Sendai impresses travellers with scenic avenues lined with zelkova trees as well as the breathtaking Hirose River. Not only is Sendai an academic city, but also a vibrant hub with lively festivals and music events, with the annual Sendai Tanabata Festival and the Johzenji Street Jazz Festival attracting thousands of visitors each year.
At the Sendai City Museum, visitors can learn about the legendary Date Masamune, known as the “One-Eyed Dragon”, and admire his pure black armor. Enjoy a leisurely sightseeing bus tour to explore key attractions such as Osaki Hachimangu Shrine, Aoba Castle and its historic remains. The local cuisine is also not to be missed—try the famous grilled beef tongue and zunda, a sweet green soybean paste that is the epitome of authentic flavours. Whether for shopping, dining, or enjoying the nightlife, Sendai promises to exceed your expectations. Come and explore this enchanting city.
