Graham Whyte joins as Business Development Manager with responsibility for Australia, New Zealand and the wider APAC region. Appointment follows recent announcement of Steve Barrass as Interim CEO to drive international growth and strategy.
STEVENAGE, UNITED KINGDOM – Vibe – the leading international provider of booking technology solutions to the travel industry – has announced the appointment of Graham Whyte as Business Development Manager, APAC to lead the company’s expansion in Australia, New Zealand and the whole of Asia Pacific.
Based on Australia’s Gold Coast, his role will be to leverage the success of Vibe’s platform and expand the group’s operations in the region.
Graham’s previous experience includes at Sabre, where he was the Regional Commercial Manager, and has over 30 years of senior travel industry experience, including at Travelport and Virtuoso in Australia, New Zealand and the United States.
The appointment follows the recent appointment of Steve Barrass – who has over 30 years of senior travel industry leadership experience, most recently as the CEO of The Appointment Group (TAG) – as the Interim CEO of Vibe to drive international growth and strategy.
This news follows the announcement earlier in the year that Vibe is powering the technology behind the newly launched travel agency website of the The Royal Automobile Association (RAA), which provides a trusted range of motor, home, and travel products and services to more than 780,000 members based in South Australia.
Martin Eade, Co-Founder and E-Commerce Director of Vibe comments: “As we’ve taken clients on in the region, including South Australia’s The Royal Automobile Association, it seemed only natural to have someone on the ground locally. Graham’s vast array of experience in some of travel’s leading companies over the last 30 years, along with his strong network in the region, makes him uniquely qualified to lead our expansion in Australia, New Zealand and the wider APAC region. Watch this space for further news soon as we grow the team and our client base there.”
Graham Whyte, Business Development Manager, APAC from Vibe adds: “For many years I have admired Vibe’s innovation and commitment to clients, so I was very keen to explore this opportunity and thrilled to start recently. Vibe’s products are Australia and New Zealand ready with one-way faring, Tasman fares, NDC connectivity, access to low-cost-carriers and much more. Already since I joined the reaction from the local market has been very positive once businesses learn about the wider Vibe tech offering.”
