World Travel Fair is the first tourism exhibition of its kind in the Chinese market with a strong focus on outbound travel activities of Shanghai business and leisure travelers. Based on 33 years Vakantiebeurs experience in the Netherlands, the organizer strongly believes in the success of the WTF concept. `Experience` is the keyword to success, says Vakantiebeurs project manager Maarten de Ruiter, advising exhibiting companies to introduce their products and destinations in a lively way to the WTF visitors.

With a media campaign focusing on medium to large foreign invested companies and Chinese companies & associations with high outbound travel activity, the organizer will ensure to attract the right Shanghai buyers for a successful show. Out of 60.000 targeted WTF visitors, a percentage of 5-10% trade visitors are expected for February 19th.

With current figures of more than 200 exhibitors from close to 35 countries, World Travel Fair 2004 is already exceeding the organizer`s expectations for the first edition. All companies and organizations that would like to participate in WTF 2004 should get in contact with us soon, says WTF project manager, Sonja Trueper. In order to secure the best remaining locations, we recommend booking as soon as possible.

Two recent milestones for China and the international tourism industry are the General Assembly of the World Tourism Organization hosted in Beijing this October, and the memorandum of understanding signed between the EU and China. The expected approval of destination status for 12 EU countries and agreements with several other countries prove that we are all heading into the right direction, says Michiel Kruse, Director of Royal Dutch Jaarbeurs China & Keylong Exhibitions Service Co., Ltd.
