Beginning March 6, 2023, United to resume daily service to San Francisco United restarts passenger flight service to Hong Kong for the first time since the pandemic began.
HONG KONG – United Airlines (UAL) announced that it will resume its daily nonstop service eastbound from Hong Kong (HKG) to San Francisco (SFO) beginning March 6, 2023, the first United passenger flight service to and from HKG since the global pandemic began in 2020. The first westbound flight from SFO to HKG will depart on March 3, 2023.
Walter Dias, United’s regional director of sales for Greater China, Korea and Southeast Asia, said, “We’re thrilled to be able to return to Hong Kong after nearly three years enabling us to provide our Hong Kong customers with our convenient daily nonstop service to San Francisco again. Our early-morning San Francisco arrival time and late-evening San Francisco departure time will offer more than 70 one-stop destinations in the mainland U.S., Canada and Latin America via our hub in San Francisco. We have nearly 40 years of long history in the Hong Kong market and our commitment to the market remains unchanged.”
Flight UA862 will leave HKG at 12:20 p.m. daily and will arrive in SFO at 8:45 a.m. the same day. The return flight, UA877, will depart SFO at 10:40 p.m. daily and will arrive in HKG at 6:00 a.m. two days later. All flights will utilize the B777-300ER aircraft offering 60 seats in the United Polaris business cabin, 24 seats in the United Premium Plus cabin, and 266 seats in the United Economy cabin.
