Travelport announces new contract with TravelPaths

Travelport, the business services provider to the global travel industry, announces a new deal with one of Ireland’s leading online travel companies – TravelPaths.

Following a rigorous review process over a number of weeks whereby TravelPaths compared their existing platform with Travelport’s offering, in particular measuring the accuracy and reliability of content returned, the online agency has now opted for Travelport’s Galileo platform which is live effective immediately.

Karl Tyrrell, managing director, TravelPaths commented: “Working with Travelport and benefiting from its unrivalled technology and service offering will further support our growth strategy. We were particularly impressed with their leading fare system which is in our opinion superior to anything else available to Irish agents. Our award winning travel website www.bookabed.ie will use Travelport’s ground-breaking uAPI solution to enable dynamic packaging for long-haul and US destinations. We have also opened a new agency in Ashbourne and chosen Travelport to handle our GDS requirements.”

Dave Walsh, country manager, Travelport added: “Its great news to be working with Karl and his team at TravelPaths again. Over the past six months we have seen a growing realisation from Irish trade partners of how important their fare systems are in this competitive environment. TravelPaths’ decision to choose the Travelport system is a glowing endorsement of the quality Travelport has to offer to Irish agents.”
