NEW YORK – Between November 2017 and February 2018, the Taiwan Tourism Bureau hosted its #TaiwanNowBoarding event across five North American cities: Los Angeles (3 November, 2017), Seattle (9 November, 2017), Chicago (17 November, 2017), Toronto (24 November, 2017) and New York (1 February, 2018). The event series gathered more than 1,000 attendees who learned about the cultural traditions and culinary practices within the vibrant heart of Asia. Immediately following the events, the lucky winners were chauffeured to the airport to board their nonstop flights to Taiwan for a fun-filled five-day adventure.
As guests discovered at each of the #TaiwanNowBoarding events, there are more than 100 nonstop flights each week between North America and Taiwan, making this treasured destination more accessible than ever. Attendees were treated to signature bubble milk tea, traditional night market games, and many more uniquely Taiwanese activities. Participants also celebrated Kaohsiung, Taiwan’s recent honor of being named among the top 10 cities to visit in 2018 by Lonely Planet. Taiwan has also been named the best expat destination in the world, thanks to its breathtaking natural beauty, welcoming atmosphere, and affordable cost of living, according to a 2017 InterNations survey.
The highlight of the night was the contest in which guests have a chance to win a free, instant flight to Taiwan with EVA Airways and China Airlines. Immediately following the event, the winners were chauffeured to board a direct flight to Taipei and spent five days and four nights exploring the best of Taiwan. The trip includes a four-night stay in a boutique hotel and a one-day tour of Taipei.
