Pan Pacific Hotels and Resorts has announced that the Group will be ending its long and close relationship with Ipoh Garden Berhad (IGB) for the management of Pan Pacific Pangkor Island. The resort will be renamed The Pangkor Island Resort and be managed by the owners IGB, directly.

Located at the north end of Pangkor Island, west of Peninsula Malaysia, Pan Pacific Resort Pangkor Island is today one of the most desirable resorts in Malaysia well known for the excellent service extended by its caring staff and its idyllic location amidst acres of tropical virgin forest and breathtaking white sandy beach.

Mr. Ichigo Umehara, President of Pan Pacific Hotels and Resorts said the parting is both amicable and by mutual consent. Pan Pacific has managed the resort since 1984 and we are proud to have contributed to the growth of Pan Pacific Pangkor Island. IGB is now re-investing in its facilities and looking to attract new markets, and we feel that the time is right for us to part company and go forward to pursue other interests which will allow us to achieve our respective business goals, said Mr. Umehara.
