Navtech expands in Africa and Middle East

Navtech Inc. has signed contracts with flydubai, Aero Contractors Nigeria, and Etihad Airways for Flight Planning,  Performance Analysis and FMS Navigation data solutions. The contracts significantly expand Navtech’s business in Africa and the Middle East.

“Navtech has focused its attention on building strong, long-term relationships with the growing airlines in the Middle East and Africa regions,” said Mike Hulley, Navtech CEO. “We’re delighted with the contracts as another step in partnering with these customers. They will be vital sources of feedback as our products and services continue to evolve.”

flydubai, Dubai’s first low cost airline, which operates flights within a 4.5hr flight radius of Dubai has signed a three-year contract for Navtech’s Airport Analysis data product, which supplies superior data that conforms to both fixed and flexible production schedules. flydubai has ordered 50 B737-800 aircraft. Ghaith Al Ghaith, CEO of flydubai, said: “Access to accurate and detailed information is crucial to the success of our business model. Signing this deal with Navtech will ensure we have access to that information.”

Aero Contractors Nigeria is a scheduled airline which runs local and regional routes across Nigeria and other West African destinations in a mixed fleet of B737-400/500 and Dash 8-300 aircraft, as well as, a sizable rotary wing fleet servicing the oil and gas industry. Aero’s contract with Navtech includes a new Flight Planning product, WebFP, and a FMS Navigation Data service. Steve Dickson of PlaneConsult, procured the services on behalf of Aero and commented, “Having worked with the customer-conscious Navtech team previously, the benefits of implementing these solutions have been of great value to Aero to date. The gain in operation and cost efficiencies seen, thus far, is set to continue as the Aero fleet expands.”

Etihad Airways has signed a three-year subscription to Navtech’s FMS product, a navigation data service that will be used in the airline’s Airbus A320 fleet.

Maintaining its long-standing commitment to reliability and quality products and services, Navtech is driving to a greater level of efficiency and customer alignment. The new customers in the Middle East and Africa will benefit from a variety of new Navtech processes that encourage and use ongoing feedback from the market in the development, enhancement, and quality of Navtech’s aviation products and services.
