More top international brands which aim to develop their business in Asia and the Pacific have confirmed their stands at the biggest travel retail and duty free trade event in the region: TFWA Asia Pacific.

To date there are 170 companies lined up to exhibit at this major show in Singapore (18-21 May), many of which bring several different brands to the show; the total number of featured brands is estimated to exceed 250.

Many companies that have not previously developed this market have taken the bold step of exhibiting at TFWA Asia Pacific for the first time. The latest additions to the list of debutantes are:

  • Christian Breton (France) and Markwins International (Hong Kong) cosmetics;
  • fragrance houses Panouge and Jean Reno from France, Bonardo (Switzerland), Victory Intl (USA);
  • Ermenegildo Zegna’s sportswear and accessories (Italy), French fashion and leathergoods Le Tanneur et Cie, Duty Free Golf Brands clothing (USA);
  • Samsonite luggage and accessories, Minox luxury goods from Germany, La Crosse technology (France), Pema gifts from Turkey, Italian confectionery from Illy Caffe;
  • Jewellery, watches and fashion accessories suppliers Fossil (Texas), Hot Diamonds (UK), Pilgrim (Denmark), Festina (Spain), Wellington (Australia);
  • SPI Group (Stolichnaya vodka) from Cyprus and Weltachs Weinkellerei wines from Germany.

Several companies are returning to exhibit after a gap while they focused their resources elsewhere: A de Fussigny Cognac, Luxottica fashion from Miami, Carven Paris fragrances, Zero gifts (UK) and Chateau Paulet – Pages Vedrenne wines from France.

Each of these dynamic companies has understood the huge potential of the markets in the Asia Pacific region and is keen to take advantage of this unique travel retail and duty free forum to meet up with key buyers. The Asia-Pacific market is considered to be the most promising market for this industry thanks to the recovery of the Japanese and Hong Kong economies, and the sustained growth in China mainland, South Korea and Taiwan.

Erik Juul-Mortensen, TFWA President: “At the last TFWA Asia Pacific we had key buyers from nearly 200 airport authorities and retail operators plus over 300 agencies serving outlets all over Asia, the Middle East, Oceania and beyond. We are confident that once pre-registration opens on 8 March the booking lines will be hot. The market is bursting with potential!”
