Poised to enhance its portfolio and brand presence, Meritus Hotels & Resorts announced the appointment of Geoffrey Richard Howe as General Manager of its latest addition, Meritus Mingde Shanghai, with effect from 9 April 2008.
Geoffrey started his hotel career at the Front Office of the Hilton Hotel, Brisbane. Moving on to work with several Australian chain hotels in the Australian states of Queensland, Western Australia and Victoria; Geoffrey has garnered experience in both city and resort hotels. Geoffrey was most recently in the employ of Argyle Hotel Management Group (Australia) holding the double portfolio of Vice President of Operations (China) and General Manager Argyle International Airport Hotel Shanghai.
Slated to open in 2008, Meritus Mingde Shanghai is the latest addition to the Meritus portfolio and its second in Shanghai. Charting a total investment in excess of US$100 million, the 26-storey deluxe hotel hosts 288 luxurious guestrooms.
