Mariner of the Seas has lined up a total of 29 sailings for this season, comprising a variety of new and popular cruises of 3, 4 and 5 nights to a variety of exotic destinations such as Kuala Lumpur (Port Klang), Kuantan, Penang, Langkawi and Phuket.
SINGAPORE – Royal Caribbean International’s Mariner of the Seas arrived in Singapore for the second consecutive winter/spring season, following an 8-night voyage from Shanghai. She will homeport here until next March and has started her Singapore season with a 5-night cruise to Penang, Langkawi and Phuket.
Mariner of the Seas has lined up a total of 29 sailings for this season, comprising a variety of new and popular cruises of 3, 4 and 5 nights to a variety of exotic destinations such as Kuala Lumpur (Port Klang), Kuantan, Penang, Langkawi and Phuket. She will also be featuring longer cruises of 7 nights, one itinerary to Bangkok (Laem Chabang) (overnight) and Ho Chi Minh City (Phu My) and another to Penang, Langkawi, Phuket (overnight), as well as an 8-night cruise to Shanghai with calls at Ho Chi Minh City (Phu My) and Xiamen and an overnight in Hong Kong. The new itineraries for this season are the 3-night cruise to Kuantan where the brand will be calling at for the first time, and the 5-night cruise to Penang, Langkawi and Phuket.
The season also features festive cruises for Christmas, New Year and Chinese New Year with special entertainment, decorations and feasts onboard such as Christmas caroling, the Christmas Show, Santa meet ‘n’ greet with gifts for kids and the New Year countdown party. Theme cruises such as the world’s first showdance competition at sea next January with renowned dance veterans from Asia as judges, will be additional highlights.
The 15 guest-deck, 3,800-guest Mariner of the Seas is the largest and most exciting ship based in Asia, with a wide range of innovative activities and entertainment only on Royal Caribbean, such as the Royal Promenade – a boulevard of duty-free shops including Michael Kors Boutique, Coach Store and the first IWC Bo+utique on a cruise ship – an ice-skating rink, full-sized sports court and rock-climbing wall. In addition, there is a three-tier theatre, themed bars and lounges as well as a nightclub.
Mariner of the Seas also features the unique DreamWorks Animation entertainment programme, which is included in the fare. Guests of all ages can interact with ‘celebrity’ characters like Shrek and Fiona of “Shrek”, Alex of “Madagascar” and Po of “Kung Fu Panda” during parades in the Royal Promenade, character breakfasts and photo opportunities.
There are numerous dining options onboard including the three-tier main dining room and buffet restaurant which serve a variety of international cuisine with a selection of Asian dishes. There are also specialty restaurants namely Chops Grille Steakhouse, the rustic-style Italian restaurant Giovanni’s Table and Johnny Rockets 50s’ style American diner. As for accommodation, the choice ranges from the luxurious suites to the unique Promenade staterooms with views overlooking the Royal Promenade.
