World Travel India, the international travel trade exhibition and conference scheduled for Mumbai in February `04, is gaining momentum from various parts of the international and middle eastern travel industry.
Tourist authorities from around the region have pledged their support for the event including Dubai`s Department of Tourism & Commerce Marketing. According to WTI project manager Richard Gayle, we look forward to their support and showcasing what Dubai has on offer for the growing outbound and VFR sectors from India.
Another major organisation from the Middle East to support WTI is Qatar Airways, one of the fastest growing airlines in the world who currently operate 19 passenger flights a week to India covering 4 destinations including Mumbai, Trivandrum, Hyderabad and Kochi. We are delighted to announce that Qatar Airways CEO Mr Akbar Al Baker will be speaking at out conference, said Gayle.
The conference will address a variety of topical issues but the organisers agree that perhaps the hottest topic of all will be India`s policy on bilateral flying regulations. According to a statement made by Mr Al Baker, India would reap enormous economic benefits if it opened its skies to competition and deregulated the country`s aviation industry. Gayle said this sentiment is echoed by other major airlines such as Emirates who whole heartedly support Open Skies policies, we are sure our conference will provide an excellent forum to debate this and other important issues confronting the Indian travel industry.
Other formidable international speakers at the conference include Mr Ian Graham, Director of Business Consulting for Deloitte Touche and Eric Pfeffer, the President of the International Hotels & Restaurant Association.
