The Middle East region present the highest passenger traffic increase with 30.3% as compared to January 2003, followed by Africa (7.3%) and Asia-Pacific (6.3%). Europe and America were both over 3% growth.

These results confirm the healthy recovery trend of the last quarter of 2003, comments IATA Director General and CEO Giovanni Bisignani. It is a good start towards achieving the 7% annual growth in global passenger traffic and 4.4% in cargo that we have forecast for 2004.
