Kurtz-Ahlers will work with IACVB to expand its global reach, developing new international memberships and relationships in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. International expansion is a focus for IACVB. Approximately fifteen percent (15%) of the association`s current members are destinations outside the United States representing thirty (30) different countries.
JoAnn`s understanding of the industry, and her experience and contacts outside the North American market, will benefit IACVB as we expand membership, IACVB President & CEO Michael Gehrisch said.
I am extremely excited about this new relationship, Kurtz-Ahlers said. I look forward to representing IACVB outside the United States, as there is significant opportunity for membership growth, particularly in Asia and the Middle East.
Before starting her own consulting firm, Kurtz-Ahlers had a distinguished 15-year career as senior sales and marketing executive with The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, L.L.C. Kurtz-Ahlers has retained Ritz-Carlton as a major client, handling sales and marketing strategies for new opening hotels in Europe, South America, and The Middle East.
In addition, Kurtz-Ahlers is an active member of the hospitality industry. She has served as chairman of the Meeting Planners International (MPI) Editorial Committee and as a frequent panelist at industry conferences. She has twice been named one of the 100 Most Powerful Women in Travel by Travel Agent Magazine and was selected as one of Meeting News` 25 Most Influential People.
