HRS expands footprint in Asia Pacific with opening of regional office in Singapore

250,000+ hotels and customized booking engine in all categories across 180 countries and an average of 12 million visits per month designed to reduce business travel costs by up to 30%.

SINGAPORE — Hotel Reservation Service (HRS), Europe’s leading hotel portal for business and private travelers, today announced its expansion to Asia Pacific with the opening of its regional headquarters in Singapore. The company offers online hotel booking and travel management solutions, which allow users to make direct reservations free of charge, offering immediate confirmation and cost savings of up to 30% on hotel bookings.

Under the leadership of CEO Tobias Ragge, HRS has accelerated its international expansion path, now covering more than 250,000 hotels across 180 countries. Singapore is the latest addition to HRS’ list of offices around the world and testament to the company’s 40-year success story backed by multiple awards applauding HRS for its service quality, mobile innovations and overall customer satisfaction.

“Asia Pacific is a high growth area and an important region for HRS to offer corporate travelers more choice and better service. We want to help companies here maximize profitability by cutting corporate travel costs through an efficient travel management system”, said HRS CEO Tobias Ragge.

More than 35,000 companies, from big conglomerates to small businesses worldwide, use HRS solutions. They offer flexible booking conditions; ease of use; multiple platforms from desktop to mobile; genuine customer reviews and transparent pricing with no hidden costs nor booking fee.

Singapore was a natural choice for HRS as it is home to regional and global headquarters of multi-national organizations and many Asian companies as well. Not only is it a popular destination for business travel but also has a high number of outbound travellers, serving as a hub in the region.

“Asia is experiencing a strong economic growth and an unprecedented rise in the consumption of travel services. With the worlds’ biggest, youngest and most tech-friendly consumer group working and living in this region, it is a promising market to be in,” added HRS Commercial Director of APAC, Christian Lukey. “While there are other players in the market, our global customers have been asking us to expand our services here for sometime already as they appreciate the modern and flexible approach HRS brings to corporate travel.”

HRS offers its hotel reservation services free of costs to corporate clients. Its customized online booking tool is user-friendly and intuitive as it is based on the leisure market booking model. The HRS solution is also set up to comply with corporation’s travel policies and provides detailed reporting, thus saving companies time and resources.

HRS technology is recognized as one of the most advanced in the industry, with accolades from trade and business experts in Europe. Its mobile application covers multiple platforms including iOS, Android and Blackberry and provides bookers and travellers choice and opportunities to make their hotel bookings fit their requirements and lifestyle while on the go.

Leveraging a robust booking engine, extensive network and aggregated content, HRS is expanding its distribution model by strategically integrating with global distribution systems (GDS).  Its hotel content will soon be available to travel management companies, thus enabling bookers to make better and informed choices on their hotels.

“At HRS we are constantly looking at how to improve travel and especially hotel bookings for corporate travellers around the world and we believe that now is the right time to continue our global growth story in Asia Pacific,” concluded Mr. Ragge.
