A Jiangsu-Hong Kong Tourism Cooperation Conference was held on 12th of December in Nanjing by the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) as part of the Board’s efforts to support Hong Kong SAR Government’s Jiangsu Hong Kong Week promotion and to strengthen exchange and co-operation with the Province.

Officiating at the opening ceremony was HKTB Executive Director Ms Clara Chong. She was joined by Hong Kong’s Commissioner for Tourism Mrs Rebecca Lai, JP; Deputy Director, The Office of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region in Beijing, Mr Tam Wing Pong, JP; Chairman of the Travel Industry Council of Hong Kong, Mr Ronnie Yuen; Deputy Secretary-General of the People’s Government of Jiangsu Province, Mr Zhou Guangming; Director of Jiangsu Provincial Tourism Bureau, Madam Lu Sujie and Deputy Director Mr Yuan Ding.

During the conference, the HKTB provided a glimpse of Hong Kong’s attractions to representatives of 29 outbound travel agents and media in Jiangsu. The attendees were briefed on the latest developments of Hong Kong’s tourism industry, infrastructure, consumption protection and products. Sixteen Hong Kong travel trade members were also in Jiangsu to discuss business with their counterparts.

Meanwhile, the HKTB is taking part in a seven-day Hong Kong Exhibition to showcase Hong Kong as a popular travel destination. Highlights include programmes of the ongoing Hong Kong WinterFest, attractions and events targeting family travellers, and shopping tips and information.
