Hansar Samui donates computer and plans renovations at local school

Hansar Samui donated a computer to the local Bophut School for their library.

Hansar Samui has a strong commitment to a monthly CSR program in line with their sustainable corporate culture.

Following their recent visit to Chiang Mai where they made donations to six schools and adopted a school for on-going financial support, this month they donated a computer to the local Bophut School for their library. The money to buy the computer, valued at Baht 29,166 (USD900), was raised from hotel’s second charity bazaar at which the hotel sold the produce from their organic farm.

In October during the school holidays, a team of management and staff from Hansar Samui will renovate the class rooms and paint the school.

Indra Budiman, CEO of Hansar Hotels and Resorts, explains his philosophy behind the hotel’s commitment to CSR. “Our employees are the ones who will be implemented, and ideally, creating new initiatives for a socially responsible, sustainably run hotel.  If employees are empowered and feel they are an integral part of the hotel’s operations and not simply temporary labor, they will be more likely to buy into and help develop sustainability and CSR program. These benefits will be amplified if the employees can see the benefits to their local communities.”
