Gulf Air`s operations to Cochin with Air India are set to begin on July 14, following the final endorsement of the bilateral and commercial arrangements with civil aviation authorities in India. Operated on Gulf Air`s newly configured two-class Airbus A320, the flights will commence from Bahrain through Abu Dhabi to Cochin, on a four-days-a-week schedule.

Following a 40-minute transit time, the flights will take off from Abu Dhabi at 12.30am to arrive in Cochin at 6am, according to reports in the UAE`s dailies.

From Cochin, flights will depart at 7am arriving in Abu Dhabi at 9.25am with a transit time of 45 minutes in Bahrain. We have already experienced overwhelming demand for the flights and hope to extend the service soon to operate five flights a week, said John Butler, Vice-President, Marketing and Sales at Gulf Air. Fareed Al Awawi, Vice-President, Network at Gulf Air, said that the venture would offer new opportunities to consolidate and complement the historic ties between Gulf Air`s owning states and India.
