Number of foreign tourist visiting Indonesia`s popular resort island of Bali last October was recorded at 97,435, an increase of 20.14 percent compared to that of last year, an official said here Friday.

Number of foreign travellers visiting Bali stood at 81,100 in October last year following the Bali bomb blast, head of Bali tourism office I Gde Pitana said.

Only about 2,700 foreign people flew to the world renown resort daily in October last year, decreasing from about 5,000 daily before bombs ripped through the Kuta resort beach on Oct 12, last year, he said.

The bomb blasts killed at least 202 people notably Australian tourists and injured more than 300 others.

Number of foreign tourists visiting Bali has continued to increase, he said adding that the number was recorded at 106,761 last September.

Pitana said number of foreign tourists in Bali stood at 38,539 in only two weeks of this month, increasing from 31,497 in November last year.

Based on its survey on about 60,000 subscribers around the world, the International Time magazine recently mentioned Bali as the most favourite destination.
