Dragonair will operate a winter service from Hong Kong to the northeastern Chinese city of Harbin, famous for its Ice-Snow Festival, from December 21.
The flights, which will operate every Saturday until the end of the winter season, have all been sold to five Hong Kong travel agents for packaging tours.
The interest of the travelling public in Hong Kong for destinations offering traditional winter scenery and activities is continuing to grow and our winter service to Harbin is aimed at satisfying that, explained Andy Tung, General Manager, Marketing & Sales. Harbin has a growing list of winter attractions based around the world-famous Ice-Snow Festival that takes place in the early part of the new year.
As well as an International Ice Sculpture Competition, which attracts thousands of tourists, Harbin offers a host of other winter activities, including ice-sailing, sledding and sleighing.
