Dragon Trail, finalist for the 2012 Red Herring top 100 Asia award

Dragon Trail announced today it has been selected as a Finalist for Red Herring's Top 100 Asia award, a prestigious list honouring the year’s most promising private technology ventures from the Asian business region.

BEIJING- The Red Herring editorial team selected the most innovative companies from a pool of hundreds from across Asia. The nominees are evaluated on both quantitative and qualitative criteria, such as financial performance, technology innovation, quality of management, execution of strategy, and integration into their respective industries.

Dragon Trail Interactive with its unique focus to help travel companies market to affluent Chinese consumers via social media, digital marketing, and travel technology, has won various awards for its campaigns including the 2011 Travel Weekly Best e-Marketing Campaign in China for the Hello Canada Campaign for the Canadian Tourism Commission. Clients range from tourist boards such as Tourism Malaysia and the Tourism Vancouver, tour operators such as CITS, online travel agencies such as Ctrip, theme parks such as Universal Studios Hollywood in California, and hotel companies such as Kempinski Hotels & Resorts and TajHotels & Palaces.

This unique assessment of potential is complemented by a review of the actual track record and standing of a company, which allows Red Herring to see past the “buzz” and make the list a valuable instrument for discovering and advocating the greatest business opportunities in the industry.
Dragon Trail logoGeorge Cao, Dragon Trail co-founder and CEO says: “This recognition comes very timely as we have just launched our own online travel website in China, www.Tripshow.com, to better help travel brands to connect with Chinese consumers, and help Chinese consumers to get inspired by fellow travellers to plan their trips.”

“This year was very rewarding,” said Alex Vieux, publisher and CEO of Red Herring. “The global economic situation has abated and there are many great companies producing really innovative and amazing products. We had a very difficult time narrowing the pool and selecting the finalists. Dragon Trail shows great promise therefore deserves to be among the Finalists. Now we are faced with the difficult task of selecting the Top 100 winners of Red Herring Asia. We know that the 2012 crop will grow into some amazing companies that are sure to make an impact.”

Co-founder and President Jens Thraenhart says: “We are extremely honoured to be part of such a prestigious group of innovative companies.” Finalists for the 2012 edition of the Red Herring 100 Asia award are selected based upon their technological innovation, management strength, market size, investor record, customer acquisition, and financial health. During the several months leading up to the announcement, hundreds of companies in the telecommunications, security, Web2.0, software, hardware, biotech, mobile and other industries completed their submissions to qualify for the award.
