Galileo renewed its content distribution agreement with China Airlines and as part of the agreement, China Airlines will implement enhanced functionalities on the Galileo system to provide travel agents with easier booking. In addition, all China Airlines’ published fares and inventory are available to all users of the Galileo system including Galileo-connected travel agencies, corporate customers and Travelport online agencies booking through Galileo.

One of the added functionalities is Interactive Seat Assignment which provides Galileo connected travel agents the ability to request seat maps and assign, change or cancel specific seats for their customers in a real-time environment. Other enhanced features include Complete Booking Record which provides airlines and travel agents with detailed flight information to ensure a seamless travel experience for customers on connecting flights; and View PNR which verifies bookings and ensures related itinerary details are correctly reflected in China Airline’s system, providing travel agents with greater confidence in delivering superior customer service.

Brad Holman, president and managing director, Asia Pacific, Galileo by Travelport, said, “Providing competitive airline content is a top priority at Galileo and we are pleased to once again deliver on this key requirement. Building on our current extensive Asian airline content, this move further positions Galileo as an important partner in providing an efficient marketplace to travel agents, travel suppliers and consumers across the globe.”

China Airline’s Mr. Hsieh Su-Chien, Vice President Passenger Sales, said, “Travel agents remain a cornerstone of our business and this development to provide enhanced functionalities will no doubt enable them to sell more effectively.”

“Galileo will continue to seek ways to deliver exceptional value and provide greater product offerings to suit the evolving needs and business models of our airline partners”, added Holman.
