ASIA, PACIFIC – CBRE announced the appointment of Ananth Ramchandran as Head of Advisory & Strategic Transactions, Hotels & Hospitality, Asia.

Based in Singapore, Mr. Ramchandran will lead CBRE’s hotel advisory business that includes advising owners and operators on the growing branded residential segment. He will be responsible for driving the strategic hotel and hospitality transaction business that includes portfolio sales, mergers and acquisitions, partnerships and capital transactional services for both debt and equity.

Steve Carroll, Head of Hotels & Hospitality, Capital Markets, Asia Pacific, said, “Ananth brings leadership and deep experience when Asia Pacific’s hotel sector is at an inflexion point, with many markets reopening borders and relaxing travel restrictions. Our clients and strong team of hospitality professionals will benefit from his expertise as the sector recovers.

Hotel investment in Asia Pacific increased 46% year-over-year in 2021, underpinned by REITs, private offices and private equity capital that are acquiring hotels in anticipation of a resumption of tourist demand. The sector is expected to attract additional investment this year as investor confidence further strengthens.

Mr. Ramchandran joins from IHG Hotels & Resorts, where he served as Vice President, Capital Investments & Transactions and Global Head of Branded Residential. He drove the company’s investment and asset management business in Asia Pacific and played a leading role in the acquisitions of the Regent and Six Senses brands.
