The Beijing Travel and Tourism Market (BITTM) announced the opening of a new office in China to have direct access to the fastest growing travel market in the world. The new office, located in the prime Xu Hui district of Shanghai, will support the excellent business growth BITTM is achieving in this sought after region.

The second BITTM, to be held April 3-5 2006 in Beijing, is expected to be significantly larger than the first event earlier this year. Industry estimates of this huge market conservatively expect 100 million Chinese outbound travelers by 2020, each spending USD$175 per day. Meanwhile proactive travel brands and products are making sure they capture their share of this highly lucrative market by securing their participation at BITTM 2006.

In addition to BITTM, Tarsus organises Labelexpo Asia 2005, which is predicted to double the size of the first edition in 2003. Tarsus also organises `pro-dimex`, where premiere Chinese suppliers of promotional products exhibit directly to buyers in Germany. In addition to its significant current investment in China, Tarsus also has a healthy pipeline of products in China, which will be launched shortly.

Karen Taylor, BITTM Event Director, said, As the leading business-to-business event, BITTM provides the essential link between the rapid development of the Chinese travel industry and the global travel and tourism industry and our new office in China is going to be very important for the show. China is a unique place to do business and it is very important to understand and respect the Chinese way.
