Awards
Delta Air Lines was recognized as the Marketer of the Year for its dedication to building a brand image of service and reliability that is noticed and appreciated by travelers. Through its new “Keep Climbing” advertising campaign, Delta has presented a fresh image to travelers, connecting customers to the airline.  In addition, Delta has enhanced the customer experience through upgrades to its SkyClub airport lounges; website improvements; integration of mobile applications; expansion of its SkyMiles loyalty program; and additional in-flight amenities, including adding Wi-Fi to mainline aircraft and many of its regional jets, adding first class cabins on its larger regional jets, adding in-seat, on-demand entertainment to many of its domestic and international aircraft, and installing lie-flat business class seats on its long-haul international fleet.

Alaska Airlines was honored with the Social Media Award for its integration of social media with its corporate communication strategy.  Through the use of Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube, Alaska Airlines effectively interfaces with travelers on a variety of issues, from baggage inquiries  to flight information and crisis communication, including a recent incident involving the breakdown of its flight planning system. The airline used social media to immediately provide updates – proactively and frequently addressing the situation for its customers.

For its commitment to protecting the environment by offsetting all carbon emissions for its adventures, REI Adventures received the Green Innovation Award. In order to promote meaningful cultural exchanges, REI Adventures encourages travelers to rebuild foreign communities through various initiatives, such as patronizing local businesses.

MASSIVEGOOD was recognized with the Inspiration Award for its campaign that gives travelers the opportunity to make contributions to global health causes through small donations while booking a plane, hotel or car on online travel websites.

Joel Chusid was honored with the Appreciation of Extraordinary Service Award for the major impact he’s made as ATME’s Chairman since 2005. Throughout his years as Chairman, Chusid’s resolve and passion pushed ATME to the forefront of the industry, helping industry players cope with unprecedented challenges in the field.

“During Joel’s term, the industry experienced major hurdles that impacted our organization dramatically,” said Kristin Zern, ATME executive director. “He took on ATME as a mission to help the industry cope and to keep everyone working and growing despite the odds working against us.”
