Mobile Adventures Limited has launched WALK THE TALK™ in Hong Kong. This service offers Asia’s first audio-guided walking tours on mobile phones. Using their own mobile, visitors and locals can see Hong Kong in an entirely new way by dialing into fun and entertaining history and architecture walks. WALK THE TALK™ audio guides allow visitors to hear the city’s most exciting stories right where they happened, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Walk through Hong Kong’s streets and be entertained by tawdry tales of pirates in the South China Sea, the opium dealers that founded the city, or Rudyard Kipling’s night out in the city’s red light district. Marvel with us at the stunning glamour of buildings Pei, Foster, Rudolph and Pelli have woven into Hong Kong’s urban fabric. Also available are recommendations on the best nearby food, shopping and bathrooms. Co-founder Stefan White said: “It’s like a museum guide, but it’s available whenever you want. By just making one call, you can access a treasure trove of entertaining, well-researched stories. WALK THE TALK is about interpreting Hong Kong’s rich, multicultural heritage and transforming it into an enjoyable experience of the city’s urban landscape.”

WALK THE TALK packages include an easy-to-read passport-sized map and a unique secret code that provides 3 days of access after the first dial-in. In addition, the customer has the option of using a free pre-pay SIM card with 2 hours of air time that is also included in the package. The retail price for the product is HK$150, or US$19. There are currently two walks. Central: Barren Rock to World City explores the district’s amazing skyscrapers, finds out what they tell us about their builders, and takes a light-hearted look at the city’s famous love of money. In Tsim Sha Tsui: Walking with Nine Dragons you’ll hear about the district’s transformation from buccaneers` den to a global bazaar of entrepreneurs and creative energy. Macau: The Heart of Old Macau will launch in February 2005; look for future titles in Hong Kong as well.

WALK THE TALK is available across Hong Kong in major English-language bookshops and retail outlets, including Bookazine, Dymocks, the Hong Kong Book Centre, Kelly & Walsh, Swindon’s and XTC on Ice gelato.
