Singapore will host Asia`s largest leisure industry event at Suntec from 17 – 19 July 2002. Over 3,500 renowned speakers, delegates and visitors from more than 35 countries will converge for 3 intense days of exhibits and industry networking opportunities.

Developed over 11 years, the Leisure and Entertainment Asia Conference is the region`s established senior management forum for key industry decision-makers and practitioners. Be it attractions or retail, facilities or entertainment destinations, the conference provides insight into current and future leisure developments, changing attitudes and expectations of customers. It also presents a unique look at the practical and profitable strategies offered by renowned operators of amusement & leisure facilities. The two-day forum, which runs from the 17-18 July 2002, will feature 25 speakers from 23 different organisations, 12 case studies and three panel discussions.

With the leisure sector perturbed by issues of security and survival, Leisure and Entertainment Asia addresses the key concerns of creating memorable customer experiences, generating demand and reaping profits in these difficult times. From venue management to the role of festivals and major events in generating traffic, entertainment organisations will take the stand and explore the key elements of creating a total venue and truly lifestyle experience. Attraction operators will further discuss promotion of regional leisure as well as the considerations that make or break a leisure business. Finally, there will also be presentations on how to create unique and branded experiences to add value to an entity.

(Leisure and Entertainment Asia 2001) was thought provoking, (providing) valuable information that can be used by any delegate that represents a multitude of business in the leisure and entertainment industry, praised Zainal Ashikin, from Resorts World Bhd, a delegate at last year`s conference, which applied the Experience Economy concept.

Among the luminaries sharing their experiences in this high profile, power-packed industry forum are Charles Leong of Singapore Tourism Board, Jon Niermann of Walt Disney International Asia Pacific, Mike Davis of Universal Studios Japan, Darrell Metzger of Sentosa Development Corporation, Alan Mahony of Sunway Lagoon, Ahmad Mustafa of Sepang F1 Circuit, Warren Buckley of Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre, Francis Phun of the Association of Singapore Attractions, Marcus Luer of Total Sports Asia and Philip Hayes Brown of NBA Asia.

Running parallel with the conference will be Asia`s largest and most comprehensive event for Amusement, Leisure, Entertainment and Themed Attractions assembly. With a wide range of entertainment and leisure options, covering everything from dark to wet to kiddie rides, a mind boggling array of coin-operated amusements and digital entertainment, the latest inflatables, animatronics, the cutest and cuddliest of toys, gifts and novelties and more, the Asian Amusement Expo 2002 will bring together providers and buyers of unique experiences.

Mixing memorable experiences with entertainment, Asian Amusement Expo will provide world class expertise for the A-Z of leisure buyers, from Arcades and Attraction to e-Zones and Zoos.

The 11th annual event is back in Singapore after 2 years in Hong Kong. It is jointly organised by Terrapinn Pte. Ltd., a business media company and industry partners AAMA, the American Amusement Machine Association and IAAPA, the International Association of Amusements Parks and Attractions.

Leisure and Entertainment Asia 2002 and Asian Amusement Expo 2002 will run from the 17-19 July at the Suntec Singapore International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
