Angkor Airways’ fares and inventory information will be available on Amadeus booking system as the two companies revealed. The Amadeus system will provide Angkor Airways with a significant expansion on its current distribution network as the carrier stated.
“Established in 2004, Angkor Airways is still relatively new in the airline business. As such, it is important for us to continue exploring new means to widen our existing distribution network,” said Mr. Brian Lee, President of Angkor Airways. “Unparalleled in this sector, Amadeus’ extensive network became a natural choice to help increase our competitiveness. Complementing our growth strategy, the move will help further consolidate our position in the market both regionally and globally.”
Under the agreement, Angkor Airways will now provide full fare content to travel agencies via the Amadeus system. Travel agencies will therefore be able to make real-time bookings and transactions, and enjoy enhanced sales efficiency as a result.
Mr. Damian Hickey, Vice President, Airline Business Group, Amadeus Asia Pacific said: “It is an absolute pleasure to be able to work with Angkor Airways to broaden their global reach to new customers. As a technology partner for the travel industry, Amadeus is determined to help further strengthen Angkor Airways’ presence in the region. The move will enable them to leverage Amadeus’ unique system, which offers travel agents an efficient booking system with a comprehensive network of airlines.”
