Alipay launches a China Travel Voucher Pack with RMB 200 discounts for flights, hotels, and more, enhancing travel ease for global visitors.

HANGZHOU, CHINA – Alipay announced the launch of a China Travel Voucher Pack for international travelers in collaboration with partners including Fliggy and DiDi, as part of the Nihao! China Tourism Partnership Program was initiated by the Network of International Culturalink Entities of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China.

Alipay’s China Travel Voucher Pack provides each inbound tourist special offers worth RMB 200 (USD 28), applicable to a wide range of scenarios such as flights, hotels, train travel, and shopping. Additionally, international tourists eligible for 72-hour or 144-hour visa-free transit, as well as those from countries with mutual visa exemption agreements with China, can access flight discount coupons from the pack.

Since 2022, Alipay has partnered with international card networks to enhance its payment services for international travelers. After downloading the Alipay app, international tourists can sign up and link their international credit or debit cards from networks like Visa, Mastercard, JCB, Discover®, Diners Club International®, and UnionPay International. This allows seamless payment across millions of Alipay partner merchants in China.

To enable a seamless user experience, the Alipay app now supports 16 languages and offers 27 daily services for international users, including ride-hailing, public transport, hotel reservations, and tourist attraction ticket booking. Global travelers can select their preferred language, including Chinese, English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, Russian, Turkish, Malay, Indonesian, Thai, Korean, Japanese, and Vietnamese. Additionally, travelers can switch the language of millions of mini-programs on Alipay through a one-click conversion.

In addition to the traditional QR code payment method, global visitors can also use Alipay Tap!, launched by Alipay in July 2024, designed to make in-store payments simpler.

Beyond Alipay, overseas travelers can use their home e-wallets to make payments at Alipay partner merchants across China, powered by Alipay+, Ant International’s cross-border mobile payment and digitalization solutions. The 13 supported e-wallets and payment apps are AlipayHK (Hong Kong SAR, China), Kaspi.kz (Kazakhstan), MPay (Macao SAR, China), Touch ‘n Go eWallet (Malaysia), Hipay (Mongolia), NayaPay (Pakistan), Changi Pay (Singapore), OCBC Digital (Singapore), Kakao Pay (South Korea), Naver Pay (South Korea), Toss Pay (South Korea), TrueMoney (Thailand), GCash (The Philippines).

In March 2024, Ant Group and its partners launched the International Consumer Friendly Zones program in Beijing to make digital payment more accessible for international travelers. The program has since expanded to 70 cities and 500 tourist attractions.
