Geneva, Switzerland: The September traffic data, showing the impact of the September 11 terrorist attacks in the USA, will be published around mid-December. August 2001 results from over 700 airports worldwide show -according to ACI<.>`s survey- passenger traffic up 3 percent, cargo down 10 percent and aircraft movements flat compared with August 2000. In August 2001, passenger traffic edged slightly upwards in all regions. It grew in Asia/Pacific and Latin America/Caribbean (+ 5 percent each), the Middle East, Africa, Europe and North America (+3 percent each). Atlanta-Hartsfield (7.2 million), Chicago-O`Hare (7.1 million) and Los Angeles (6.5 million) are the world`s busiest airports.
