2014 masters agents ride Mexican wave on Crown Princess

The annual CLIA Australasia Masters Conference is an opportunity for travel agents who have achieved CLIA (Australasia) Accreditation status and are currently employed by a CLIA (Australasia) Member Travel Agent to advance their sales and marketing skills in a conference environment while cruising on a CLIA Cruise Line vessel.

Nearly 50 agents from Australia and New Zealand have enjoyed a Mexican fiesta during this year’s CLIA Australasia Masters Conference – the first to be held onboard a Princess Cruises’ ship.

The group of cruise agents spent six nights sailing the Mexican Riviera on Crown Princess as well as two nights pre-cruise on the legendary liner Queen Mary, now a floating hotel at Long Beach.

During a range of onboard conference sessions, participants learned how to apply advanced sales and marketing techniques to the cruise industry.

The sessions were led by US-based travel industry trainer, business coach and motivational speaker Scott Koepf, who has been the facilitator at the annual Masters Conference for the past 16 years.

Between seminars, they had the opportunity to relax on Crown Princess and explore the Mexican ports of Mazatlan and Cabo San Lucas, with many agents travelling with their partners.

CLIA Australasia General Manager Brett Jardine said the Masters Conference was an invaluable experience for cruise agents.

Every year the demand to attend increases and we’ve already had some fantastic feedback from this year’s group saying the conference exceeded their expectations and that Scott lived up to his reputation as an exceptional facilitator,” Mr Jardine said.

Successful completion of a post-conference work-based assignment will earn participants the elite Master Cruise Consultant accreditation.
