One Siam celebrates Chinese New Year, the year of the pig with “One Siam The Great & Glorious Chinese New Year 2019”.

Join the celebration of Chinese New Year, the year of prosperity pig at "One Siam", a world-class destination from the united power of 3 shopping malls which includes Siam Paragon, Siam Center and Siam Discovery, together with Kasikorn Credit Card and Origin Property on this auspicious occasion with a wonderful campaign, "One Siam The Great & Glorious Chinese New Year 2019". Witness a spectacular performance by Acrobatic Troupe imported directly from Shandong province, People's Republic of China who will be performing auspicious lion dance with up to 63 lions (number of lions is based on the year of the Buddhist era plus one indicating progression) and a 50-meter LED dragon who is a 5-time award winner of royal cup championship. The show will be held from 1 - 5 February 2019 at 18:00 hrs onwards. Other activities include photo shoot wearing contemporary Chinese costumes in 3-dimensional set designed by Thai Designers, an exhibition of 9 lucky pig sculptures in different postures to reflect the prosperity and happiness throughout the year of the pig, enjoy the story behind the decoration of the 3 shopping centers to welcome the Chinese New Year at One Siam as well as have fun shopping and receiving red envelopes plus other special promotions. The opening ceremony will take place on 1 February 2019 from 5:30 pm onwards at Parc Paragon, Siam Paragon.

The first highlight starts at Siam Paragon with the greatest blessing ceremony and debut for the first time in Thailand a special imported performance of "Siam Paragon Chinese New Year 2019 The Great and Glorious Celebration" by Jining Acrobatic Troupe, flying directly from Shandong, People's Republic of China which has won a gold medal from the 6th National Golden Lion Competition – the largest acrobatic competition in China. They have performed on many international levels with a style that was inspired by a combination of local Shandong’s culture and international standard performance to create a show of double climbing acrobatic skills or the use of more than 2 Chinese Poles where the performers have to use strength, harmony and sophistication, which has become one of Jining's unique characteristic and was impressed by the audiences from many countries.

The first ever performance of auspicious lion dance with as many as 63 lions performing (number of lions is based on the year of the Buddhist era plus one indicating progression) is divided into 10 lucky colors representing all 5 elements namely; water (blue, navy blue, black), wood (green), fire (red, pink, purple) earth (orange) and gold (golden-yellow, silver-white). In addition, there is also a 50-meter long LED dragon performance to show off unity, strength and acrobatic skills of more than 300 performers which is guarantee to be the number one in Thailand by 5 times winning of the royal cup as well as other awards from both local and international competitions including in China and Singapore. There is a belief that if the Chinese auspicious animals both lion and dragon attended the celebration at a festival, they would create supernatural power, prosperity, protection to that place as well as creating good fortune, prosperity, wealth and happiness to the audiences and everyone in their family. The lion dance on Mei flower pole is considered an extremely popular show in Asian countries like China, Malaysia, Taiwan, Hong Kong as well as Thailand.

Get ready to enjoy a special surprise, only in the opening ceremony on 1 February 2019 with 2 superstars, ‘Weir - Sakollawat Kanarot' and ‘Bella-Ranee Campen’ who will be performing in the China’s legend of red threads of fate together for the first time. It is a story about a long-lasting love, integrity and wishes of young lovers and their adventures. ‘Weir’ will be representing the dragon – the symbol of power, emperor and prestige, while his real-life sweetheart ‘Bella’ will be in the role of the swan goddess – the symbol of beauty, empress and new beginning. During this performance, the actor and actress will be wearing ancient Chinese costume and to reflect the wealth and glorious of the new year.

In addition, Siam Center, the Ideopolis, would like to invite customers to enjoy the photo shoot to celebrate Chinese New Year festival in contemporary Chinese style costumes – a mixed between western shirt and traditional Chinese shirt expressing the unique identity of Chinese clothing through modern fashion design – amidst the modern Chinese style three-dimensional sets that have been specially designed for this event by the leading Thai designers, PAINKILLER and WONDER ANATOMIE. Customers will receive their free 4x6 inches printed color images as souvenir from CANON by presenting receipts with a minimum spending of 1,500 Baht from either one of the 3 malls; Siam Paragon, Siam Center and Siam Discovery at the ATRIUM 1 floor, Siam Center from 1-5 February at 14:00-20:00 hrs.

Siam Discovery, Exploratorium, organizes an exhibition of 9 lucky pig sculptures in different postures, reflecting this auspicious occasion which including happiness, love, fortune, fulfillment, good luck, prosperity, longevity, success and wealth. The sculptures are made using handmade Paper Mache techniques and beautifully painted with creative designs. They are from 1.50 - 2.20 meters in height and surrounded by balloons and Chinese lanterns located at Discovery Plaza, Siam Discovery.
