5.000 delegates in 2013 International Dragon Award Annual Conference

The IDA is a Chinese life insurance and financial services industry event that honours insurance and financial professionals. IDA 2013 is expected to generate an estimated RM55.8 million (RMB104.9 million) in economic impact to Malaysia.

KUALA LUMPUR – Delegates of the four-day 2013 International Dragon Award (IDA 2013) Annual Conference held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre were given a brief respite from their busy programme and a hands-on experience of eight Malaysian arts & crafts with the Centre’s presentation of its complimentary ‘Cultural Showcase’.

With the melodious sounds of the gamelan (traditional Malay orchestra) in the background, the over 5,000 local and international participants from more than 16 countries including China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Korea and Australia had their hands full at batik painting, basket weaving, wood carving, songket weaving, pewter smithing, henna painting and Chinese calligraphy for a brief but enjoyable insight into the country’s rich and diverse cultural heritage.

The unique ‘Cultural Showcase’ is offered as part of the Centre’s complimentary Conventions Value-Add Programme for event planners of international association meetings. The package also includes site inspections, pre-function meetings, a cocktail reception or media conference fully hosted by the Centre and 10 tickets to the PETRONAS Twin Towers’ Sky Bridge for a truly ‘birds’ eye’ view of the iconic Kuala Lumpur City Centre and its surrounds.
